"Life Doesn't Knock Twice" - what a powerful and thought-provoking title! That artwork is absolutely striking too - the layered faces really capture the complexity of human experience and the weight of missed opportunities.
There's something profound about that concept - how life presents us with moments and chances that may never come again. It's both sobering and motivating at the same time.
Love seeing philosophical content that makes us pause and really think about how we're living. These are the kinds of insights that can genuinely shift perspective.
Can't wait to dive into this piece! What inspired this particular reflection on life's fleeting opportunities? 🤔
The engagement you're getting shows people are really connecting with these deeper thoughts!
Thank you so much for your thoughtful words! It means a lot to know the message resonated with you. Life really does move fast, and sometimes it takes just one moment of reflection to shift how we see everything. I'm grateful this sparked that pause for you that's exactly why I share these kinds of thoughts.🙏
That’s wonderful to hear. It’s proof that stepping in before you feel ready can open doors you didn’t even know were there and sometimes those doors lead to the best people, keep going.
Thanks for this. It's been encouraging. I'm constantly second guessing things and thinking I'm not ready to step towards my goals. Even writing the few things I've written on here I've found that shortly after I posted them my mind started doubting. I asked myself what others would think and I thought what I'd written wasn't good enough. Of course I know that I have to start somewhere and unless I start I can't grow and develop, but the doubt still creeps in. This piece of yours has encouraged me to just keep on writing. Hopfully in time I'll find my voice and this fear will eventually become a nostalgic memory. So thanks again. :)
From my own experience: I feel fear intensely, but I don’t let it lead. That’s exactly why, and the only way, I truly live, rather than merely exist.
I really like that facing fear instead of letting it control you is exactly what makes life authentic.

And here’s another by my favorite poet Louis MacNeice (who studied and taught Classics and so he often has a philosophical tinge to his writing)
The perfectionist stands forever in a fog
Waiting for the fog to clear
So true you can wait forever for that perfect clarity, but the fog’s part of the journey. MacNeice had such a way of saying it simply but deeply.
Yes it does. Everytime I thought Id blown my biggest opportunity, a bigger one came along…and, incredibly improbable situations to boot.
🫶 great read
This is how I felt as I began Substack. But the kindness of the community has been so rewarding, interesting and inspiring.
